Early life

On November 10, 2002, Camavinga was born to Congolese parents in a camp for refugees in Cabinda, Angola.

Five of his siblings are living. His family moved to France when he was two. They moved to Fougères because he was born and raised there. Though he later quit focusing solely on football, he used to practice judo. The majority of the Camavingas' possessions were destroyed in a house fire in 2013, which Eduardo blames for the family's money problems.

Career

Camavinga joined Rennes' youth program at the age of 11. He signed his first professional contract on December 14 of last year at the age of 16 and a month, becoming the club's youngest professional in history. He made his professional debut for Rennes at the age of 16 years and 6 months on April 6, 2019, in a 3-3 Ligue 1 tie with Angers, becoming the youngest player to ever play for Rennes' first team.

On August 18, 2019, Camavinga received an assist and was hailed as the game's MVP in a 2-1 victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

He scored his first goal for Rennes on December 15, 2019, in the 89th minute of a 1-0 victory over Lyon.

He played in four games in the UEFA Champions League for the 2020–21 season against Krasnodar, Chelsea and Sevilla.

Camavinga attained French citizenship in November 2019. After Matteo Guendouzi was called up to the senior team six days later, he was chosen to play for France's under-21 team against Georgia and Switzerland.

Real Madrid announced on August 31, 2021 that Camavinga has agreed to a deal with them through June 30, 2027, with Rennes.

On September 12, 2021, he made his professional debut in a 5-2 victory over Celta Vigo, scoring just after coming off the bench. He made his Champions League debut for Real Madrid three days later, on September 15, 2021, replacing Luka Modric in the 80th minute and helping Rodrygo score the game-winning goal against Inter Milan.The goal by Vinicius Junior in the 58th minute gave Real Madrid their 14th Champions League championship. The Brazilian only had one shot, which he converted after collecting a powerful cross along the box from Federico Valverde and finding him at the back post. Liverpool controlled the whole game. Carlo Ancelotti won his fourth Champions League, the most for a manager, thanks to Junior's goal. For Camavinga, it was his first Champions League victory.
